thursday nite, i completed the perfect trifecta: three independent concerts in one nite. it began with danielle howle [myspace] performing at the decatur public library. fortunately, this show began at 7pm [though unfortunately, i was a bit late do to work stuffs]. when that ended at 8:30, i scrambled over to eddie’s attic just in time to grab a brew & enjoy the melodious tones coming from miss jolie holland [myspace] [though i don't care much for her stage banter or anything else outside of her music; she's kind of a bitch on stage]. after she finished her set, i rushed back to east atlanta to the earl to catch most of the cold war kids‘ set [myspace]. only missed a few minutes of that. these guys are perhaps my favorite new band. they totally have it together, even to the point of completing upstaging the opening act, the sound team.

so fuck yeah! i made it to 3 shows i really wanted to see…all i one nite. amazing :)

now, for you’re enjoyment:

danielle howle – roses from leroys
danielle howle – this kind of light
jolie holland – springtime can kill you
jolie holland – old fashioned morphine
cold war kids – hospital beds
cold war kids – the soloist in the living room

everyone should check out autopassion:
myspace.com/autopassion

these indie rockers are from my home away from home, winston-salem, north carolina. they are part of the kind of artist collective//venue//home known as the werehouse [also formerly known as ps211].

and they will certainly rock your extra-small ironic hipster shirt right off.

such a shame they haven’t made it down to atlanta yet..
