A little bookmarklet for your twitter

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

I was delighted when whofollowswhom.com came around, but I was a bit dismayed that there wasn’t a quck, easy way to get from a user’s twitter page to immediately finding out who our mutual followers are, etc. Since then, @janislanka has added the ability to directly link to his page, and thus is born the javascript bookmarklet. Simply put, drag the below link to your toolbar. If you’re logged in & you’re viewing someone else’s twitter page, hit the bookmark & you’re taken to whofollowswhom.com! Voila!

I’ve only tested this on osx/firefox, so if it doesn’t work for you, let me know! thanks

[Thanks to betterexplained.com for the bookmarklet tutorial]

OLPC to sell laptops to me, you, and everyone we know

Monday, September 24th, 2007

The One Laptop Per Child [olpc] project is now allowing anyone to buy a laptop for $399, thus covering the cost of a 2nd laptop that will go to a child in a developing country. They have done so amidst a disappointing lack of orders from governments, who previously were the only ones able to place orders. As an added bonus, the second laptop will be tax-deductible.

A Day of Rest

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

So two guys are attempting a worldwide experiment … how many people can give up the use of their computer for a day?

Check out ShutdownDay.org for more.

My question, does this just mean your laptop or desktop? What about your tivo, xbox, wii, ipod, stereo, coffee machine, alarm clock, car, atm, mobile phone, ..? They’re all pretty much computers in different boxes. can you avoid using all of them for an entire day? what would you do with your day? would this result in a utopia or anarchy?

I find it pretty interesting .. i’m going to see how much i can not use for the day.

what do yall think?
